welcome
Unlike the package of separate tools that were released for Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam, the BF2 Editor consolidates all the tools a modder will need into "subsections" of one Editor, allowing you to do pretty much everything from the same application.

While the interface is quite different, and can take a while to master, there are many tutorials created by both Lawrence Brown and the entire mod community which will help you understand all aspects of the editor. The forums are an excellent source of knowledge for all areas of the editor.

Insurgent Strike V0.11 Released - 6/1/09

Hello patient Insurgent strike fans. It has been quite a while since the last update, but over that time of silence, the development team here at insurgent strike has been effortlessy working on getting insurgent strike ready for it's v0.11 release. the main reason for the release taking so long were some complicated issues with getting singleplayer to run stable, but some compromises were made so that insurgent strike could move on and get to this stage. For any of you insurgent strike fans that have played our ancient 0.1 beta FROM LONG AGO, the .11 release will be far different. Expect realistic gameplay that will better immerse you into the virtual combat situations you experience on the battlefield 2 engine. WE'VE BEEN HARD AT WORK GETTING NEW MAPS READY, ADDING NEW WEAPONS, AND NEW FACTIONS, AS WELL AS TWEAKING CURRENT VEHICLES, AND WEAPONS. WE ARE SURE INSURGENT STRIKE v0.11 WILL NOT DISSAPOINT, AND WE ASSURE YOU THE WAIT HAS BEEN WORTH IT.

So without further ado, we present you, insurgent strike v0.11

We'd also like to give you a little bit of info on what to look forward to in the v0.12 update of insurgent strike. This update will mainly include various bug fixes, and updates, but will also have some other goodies. Like the FV107 scimitar that the U.K. faction will get their hands on, and the Militia and Insurgents will be getting a new AK-74.Also look for the USMC faction to appear in .12

Bf2 1.5 Beta Patch Out! - 4/21/09

Taken from Total bf2...

Well, after what seemed like years of waiting, we are finally receiving the first taste of the 1.50 patch for Battlefield 2. If you haven't been paying attention lately, the patch includes a brand new map dubbed Operation Blue Pearl as well as Highway Tampa, a once-optional map for 1.41. In addition, there are the usual bug fixes

Change Log:

- Additional support for Windows Vista.
- Added Highway Tampa as a required map.
- Added a new map called Operation Blue Pearl.
GAMEPLAY TWEAKS
- Changes made to both the J10 and F35B to make them more balanced. Please note that the J10 is a superior dogfighter to the F35B and as such these two aircraft will never be equally matched.
- AA targeting tweaked to make it more effective.
- Added checks to prevent "runway grieving".
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.
- Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model.

Remember that this patch is incremental - you need to have Battlefield 2 v1.41 installed.

Not tried it yet myself, so lets here what you guys think wink.gif

Project Reality Is Mod Of The Year - 3/2/09

Congratulations to Project Reality who, following their success of a few days ago have followed it up by winning the Mod of the Year as voted for by the public (going one better than last year when they came 2nd) and making it a clean sweep.

Over the past few years Project Reality has grown and grown, overcoming many of the limitations with the BF2 engine and unlike any other BF2 mod maintaining a strong player base through regular top quality updates. As modders we know how much hard work it takes to create any mod, let alone one voted the best of them all. So congratulations to the entire project reality team, who have not only built a fantastic mod but also provided stacks of help here and in particular pushed the python and coding side of things enormously.

In addition, congratulations must go to the First Strike team who grabbed a well deserved 4th spot for their BF2142 mod. FH2 also made the top 10, but having done better last year their position wasn't included in the top 10. (Not sure why - but nevermind).

So a huge well done to all three mod teams, and well done for keeping the battlefield franchise alive! Who would have thought that from those half dozen or so Lawrence Brown tutorials could come the best mod in the world!
